Exploring New Beginning

On the cusp of the Equinox and stirrings of spring, Stephanie and Megan explore the topic of new beginnings. After a year of lockdowns and now with the world slowly reopening, we talk about what it means to truly begin again. We discuss why letting go of expectations and staying in the moment is an important part of the process. We discuss the different ways we may fear change and how to look for inspiration. We discuss how the Aries influence this month is propelling us forward and how the Ace cards of the Tarot can help us better understand new beginnings.

Exploring Love

With an eye towards Valentine's Day, Stephanie and Megan explore the theme of love, noting how love has so many facets and ways of expression. They talk about love as a verb, and how it can invite action and participation in engaging with others. Megan offers both the Lovers and Empress cards of the Tarot as archetypes of love, and how each represents a different aspect of love and the possibility for transformation. They discuss how the planet Venus in our astrological chart represents how we engage and attract love into our lives, with an overview of Venus's expression in the four elements (air, fire, water, and earth signs). They end their conversation with a reminder and intention to: Open our hearts to love.

Exploring Pivoting

With the Saturn/Uranus Square highlighting the astrological landscape in 2021 and inviting us to be adaptive, flexible, and open to re-invention, we chose pivoting to be our focus for this month’s conversation, one that we had with Amanda Carter Gomes, editor/founder of the online publication The Fold. We spoke about how the current times have called us all to be light on our feet and to alter our course, sometimes out of necessity and other times out of a desire to change up our lives. Amanda shared numerous stories of women who pivoted and re-directed their lives, expanding the path they carve in unique and pioneering ways. We spoke about how pivoting takes courage and yet how sometimes we may shift things up too prematurely because we lack the patience and endurance to stick with our route. The topic of pivoting is so juicy and timely, and we invite you to listen in and be inspired.

Exploring Nourishment

In this episode, Stephanie and Megan invite life coach and nutrition expert Lisa Levine to join us in a conversation about nourishment. Our discussion begins by exploring the definition of nourishment and how it encompasses not only the food we eat but the different ways in which we sustain ourselves. (One of the themes we return to again and again is how a balanced life includes nourishing ourselves body, mind, and spirit.) Lisa talks about self-compassion as the first step in true nourishment, and why giving ourselves permission to feed our needs is a beautiful thing! We talk about conscious eating as a way of being present to our desires, and how creating ritual is an important part of the process. From taking long walks with friends to cooking favorite family recipes and more, we share some of the nourishment strategies we’re undertaking this holiday season.

Exploring Healing

In this episode, Stephanie and Megan invite healer and yoga teacher trainer Josephine Edmondson to join them in a conversation about healing. Our poignant discussions have us connect to the subtleties of true healing, and how we’re currently collectively re-evaluating what healing actually means. We explore a host of topics including ancestral grief, the importance of being in relationship with rage and anger, and how to be with the overwhelm of emotions that may arise when you allow yourself to be vulnerable. With her heart-centered soulful perspectives, Josephine also shares with us the power of breathwork, one of the practices at the center of her healing practice.

Exploring Anger

In this episode, Stephanie and Megan dig into the theme of anger, what is often an uncomfortable subject for many of us! We explore the deeper nuances of this emotion, and how it is so prevalent in our world today. We discuss the current planetary landscape, notably how with action planet Mars currently retrograde, it’s adding fuel to our frustration about getting things done. We also talk about how anger may be related to the feeling of not being in control as well as something that covers up our grief. We explore the negative stigma often associated with anger, and why it is important to take ownership of your anger in a healthy way. We discuss dealing with your personal trigger points, and staying conscious to your deeper needs. And, through our dialogues, we discover how compassion may be the balance point for finding our way through anger.

Exploring Endurance

In this episode, Stephanie and Megan explore the theme of endurance, given how we’re all seeking ways to find stamina and inner strength in these challenging times. From their homes in Seattle, they recorded this episode as the West Coast fires were raging and smoke filled the air, adding to the seemingly relentless vibe of 2020 that has many of us asking "How much can we endure?” They discuss the value of embracing change, finding courage and a new sense of self in all that is happening, and remembering that this moment in our lives is not a sprint but a marathon. They speak about connecting to your values and discovering what you deem to be essential and enduring, and how, at the end of the day, what truly endures is love.
